BOARD AND
COMMITTEES
Benefits of Joining a Board or Committee
The DSP is an effective advocacy organization because its members believe that downtown Spokane is the basis of an economically healthy region. Committee members leverage professional insight to discuss a spectrum of ideas and solutions for addressing challenges and opportunities facing downtown. Through a thoughtful process, the committee builds consensus on position recommendations that are presented to the DSP Board. If approved by the Board, the DSP advocates on behalf of its membership.
The DSP Board meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month to discuss budget, management, and program delivery issues on behalf of the DSP membership, setting policies and strategic direction to build a more vital downtown.
The Ratepayer Board of Directors sets policy and determines how BID resources are spent to improve the economic capacity of downtown through the provisions of enhanced municipal services in the areas of cleanliness, safety, promotions, marketing, and transportation.
