The City of Spokane is encouraging commuters to choose an alternative to driving alone to work in Spokane’s Downtown and University Districts. To reduce traffic congestion and greenhouse gas emissions, Commute Smart by carpooling, riding the bus, vanpooling or choosing a healthier option like bicycling or walking to work. How you commute to work is one of the most powerful choices you can make to help!
The Commute Smart program targets commuters who start using a commute alternative for the first time. As a new alternative commute user,* you have the opportunity to win some great prizes!
If you are one of the first 700 new users to choose a commute alternative 10 times a month for 3 consecutive months, you will win a $50 gift card. If you are one of the first 250 people to refer a new user and that user chooses an alternative commute mode 5 times within one month, you will win a $5 gift card. There will be additional random prize drawings for registered commuters as well.
To be eligible to win, track your commute at MyCommute.org. Click on New User, enter your information and the worksite pass code ØNQV. Once you are registered, log in to your Commute Calendar, click on the date and pick the alternative you used that day. The calendar will automatically track your commute trips. To be eligible for prizes, your calendar must be completed by the 8th day of the following month.

* For eligibility, only one on-line commute calendar is allowed per person. If you already record your commute activity on MyCommute.org please continue to use your current account. The Commute Smart program is in effect August 2008 through May 2009. Commute Smart–Travel Green implements the Growth and Transportation Efficiency Center (GTEC) Program created by the Washington State Legislature in 2006.
