BE MERRY & MAGICAL

Small Business Saturday Swag Bag Giveaway Event sponsored by STCU

To kick off Small Business Saturday on November 25, the first 100 customers at Auntie's Bookstore will receive a Small Business Saturday “swag bag”. The bag will feature gift cards, coupons, and swag items from a variety of small businesses within the Business Improvement District.

Contact our team to make a contribution to the Swag Bags. Items can include gift cards, swag items, flyers for upcoming events or promotions, and more (be creative!). Contributors will be listed and included in promotional communications leading up to Small Business Saturday, and throughout the holiday season.

Twelve Days of Downtown Deals sponsored by STCU

*This promotion has been reached its maximum number of participants.*

From December 12 through 23, DSP will be highlighting a different promotion each day taking place at a downtown business. Promotions may be for that day only, or ongoing, we just want to help get bodies through your door.

Contact DSP with any deals, discounts or promotions your business is interested in having featured, and we'll help spread the word. When participants visit your business on the day the deal is being highlighted, they'll be eligible to enter into a cash prize drawing as a thanks for supporting local business.

Holiday Window Display Contest sponsored by Visit Spokane

A vibrant, decorated downtown can attract customers by making the area more enjoyable and inviting. To celebrate Spokane’s unique, historic downtown, awards will be presented to participating businesses in the downtown area with the best holiday window displays.

The DSP will reimburse expenses up to $400 for any participant for design and creation of their windows. At least $100 of the reimbursement must go to the artist if one was hired externally to create the display.

Three winners will receive $600 value in advertising value from The Inlander, and $550 in advertising value from Visit Spokane.

Presented by Visit Spokane | See Official Contest Guide

STCU Kid's Holiday Hunt and Coloring Contest

From November 25 through December 17, kids 12 and under will have the chance to search for character with a secret word inside 25 businesses throughout Downtown Spokane.

Once 10 secret words are identified, participants can enter their completed worksheet into the grand prize drawing on December 20.

Host a Holiday Hunt character at your place of business by reaching out to our team at info@downtownspokane.org.

Kiddos in three age groups will have opportunity to enter a coloring contest and compete to win $100! Businesses hosting a Holiday Hunt item will also be provided the official coloring page - based off of a 1973 Crescent Department Store coloring book - for distribution.

Contribute to Downtown Spokane’s Holiday History

Donate to help refurbish, maintain, and display these historic displays for years to come.

When Macy’s closed in downtown Spokane in 2016, a journey began for the staff at the Downtown Spokane Partnership. Located in a fifth-floor storage room was a piece of Spokane holiday history, figurines from the windows of the Crescent Department store that graced the block between Main and Riverside Avenues from 1889 to 1988.

From that find, DSP staff began locating storing, grouping and refurbishing pieces of holidays past. In 2018 the DSP partnered with Davenport Hotels to bring a bit of the magic back to Main Ave with The Crescent Windows at The Grand.

This collaborative effort requires investment of time, talent, and funding to bring the windows to life each year, and the work has just begun.

Help the DSP establish a fund that can maintain and present these one-of-a-kind displays for years to come. Your contribution not only brings the windows to life, but supports local artisans and businesses.
