Downtown Plan Update

Downtown conducted a community-based planning process updating its 1999 Plan for a New Downtown. This updated Plan is designed to help Spokane achieve its full potential, and most importantly, is built upon the strength of the Plan’s architects – the citizens of Spokane. In February 1999, the City of Spokane adopted the Plan for a New Downtown as part of its Comprehensive Plan. Since the creation of the Plan, $3.7 billion has been invested in the Downtown Core. The Plan provides design guidelines, zoning regulations and targeted projects for City staff, developers, and business leaders alike to follow in order to ensure vibrant, safe and proactive measures as we continue to rebuild Downtown.
