Downtown Spokane Snow Removal

In preparation for potentially severe snow conditions, the Downtown Spokane Partnership is working closely with the City of Spokane to implement new plans to alleviate the impact of rapid snow accumulation in the Downtown core.

For detailed information on Downtown Snow Removal Plans, contacts, information and tips, click here.

The new city snow emergency plan is initiated when:

  • Stage 1: 2” of snow are on the ground and 4” more are expected in the current snow forecast.
  • Stage 2: 6” or more of snow have accumulated and more is expected.

Downtown-specific parts of the City’s new snow removal plan (when “Stage 2” snow emergency is declared):

  • Snow removal in the Downtown core will happen between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. ONLY, in order to effectively and efficiently clear the streets.
  • All vehicles need to be off of the street during a declared snow emergency to allow for the passage of the City’s heavy snow removal equipment.
